The New Normal

Well it has been a while since I posted anything. So many things have happened this year on top of the tough year we were already having.

To be honest, I have not been too sad about being home a lot. Gotten lots of gardening done. Spent lots of time with my granddaughter and the rest of the family.

But my dad passed in March. Our kitty Lily passed at 17 (in May), my brother-in-law passed in July and we thought my father-in-law was ready to go too 3 weeks ago... He ended up having emergency heart valve surgery and now he is in a rehab hospital working on getting better so he can come home.

Of course he wants to come home NOW! But needs more physical therapy, to be checked up by his main dr from the surgery, etc... Plus we have to set up home care for him. Another learning curve to wade through.

Hopefully he can go home soon. Although I still wish he would move down nearer us. Yes because it would be easier for us to manage the whole thing, but also because he gets lonely. And it is a two day drive up. Or if we fly you have to get that all set up too and a rental car etc.

It is beautiful where he lives. But he lives alone. No real close neighbors. We do call him a lot. So for now that will have to do. Keep up his spirits. Go back up to see him in a few weeks. All part of the new normal.
